Problem is now whenever someone searched the dog, kennel, or names of people mentioned now they get a search result with "scammed" in the title. Maybe a mod in this area can change the title?

Agree with this. Wasn't an innocent simple question when you bring names into it.
Just speaking for myself, if I was personally involved with these dogs then I'd have a huge issue with the thread title in the first place. Honest mistakes happen every day, and wording can be problematic, but I really don't think anyone would like to see that if it was directed at them.
I agree with these^

If you have a question ask it, just leave the assumptions out of it.

I changed the title. Hopefully it is sufficient. Now let's have an educational discussion without anymore rude comments.

Since Karla is a senior member of this forum and as been on it since 2010, I would think she would be able to pose a question in the proper way as to not accuse people of scamming. I would also think she would know after almost 4 years a little about breeding practices. I think she should be suspended from this forum for a time until she learns some etiquette. Her question was a direct attack on other breeders, she was not seeking knowledge.

First of all I want to express my sincere apologies. I wasn't accusing anyone listed of any wrongdoing. This got taken all out of context and blown way out of proportion.

I questioned the validity of the database. It shows Quantum living in Germany.

Then I find him on the other website link under "Our Dogs". That is the only reason I posted that link.

So, who is the real Quantum and where does he live? (I did not badmouth anyone or make any accusations.)

When I realized they felt I was talking about a breeding with a dog from that kennel, I wrote a private message to them and stated the hobby breeder I was talking about. (Whom I did not name on the forum.)

This unnamed person was claiming that Quantum was the Stud for their Bitch.

Knowing this other person/kennel and their dogs, it raised the question for me as to why a dog with such credentials would be bred to a bitch without like credentials.

If anything, the other kennel may have been trying to scam people by claiming Quantum was the Sire.

I explained in my PM that I didn't understand why a stud own would want to 'muddy the water' so to speak.

I got no reply. Instead, I got told that I made a fool of myself.

I want you all to know how upset I am over this. If you only knew me in person, you would know that I did not intend to hurt anyone. I know what I was thinking in my head, but somehow in writing things got twisted and added and turned ugly. I am truly sorry.

Moderator, thank you for changing the title. I gave it a bad title, but it wasn't meant to accuse that owner or kennel of doing anything wrong. In fact, if it was the unnamed kennel falsifying the information of the stud, the owner would probably like to know.

I hope that clears things up. All I wanted to know is if the data base was correct and would this stud be used to sire a dog without the same background.

Who's the fool now?

Someones sensitive..lol.

You got 1k and a negative brucellosis test? Then you got a breeding with just about any stud you want. I heard one well known breeder say "its either they give me the money or they give it to someone else". Money talks.

I hear a certain VA male hereabouts has 40 breedings in the last year! Cant beat earning 40k and not doing anything..lol. Makes me think Im in the wrong line of GSD..

I would like to make a statement regarding my dog Quantum. He is my beloved pet, I am not a breeder, I have owned Quantum for over 2 years and that was his first breeding, I do not make money off my dog. I allowed him to breed to czakoworkingdogs bitch because she is amazing in beauty and temperament, her owner shares my philosophy in breeding dogs and I wanted a puppy from Quantum. I am sure there are those who buy dogs and breed them to anything for money, I do not. Quantum is a beloved family member to me not a money maker.

So the answer is, a stud dog is a stud dog, and who he is bred to depends on the people owning him.

Cheryl S, if you say, "how pretty" on a few pictures, and enter into a couple of conversations about anything or nothing, you too will reach the title of "Senior Member" before you know it. It does not mean anything except that your post count reached a magic number. 231 posts in 3+ years, is really not that active, and it is very likely that such a poster may have spent all their time in the puppy section or the training section, and have never descended to the turbulent depths of where the breeding section resides.

We should know the rules, which specifically states, no breeder bashing. However, anyone who is not actively breeding or very active in other ways in the dog-world, may not realize that by simply stating the name of a dog, and showing his picture/credentials, would immediately show that section of the forum who owns him.

So it is totally possible that the person who started the thread, may not have realized that by naming a specific dog, they were in fact bringing into question the breeding decisions of that dog's owners. What might make sense would be to remove the dog's photo and name, and any references to who actually owns the dog, and then we could have a conversation on why it makes sense for stud dog owners to discriminate and why it might make just as much sense to breed to any female whose owners seem to have a decent plan.

But while this thread is about a specific dog, it is simply impossible for it not to be scrutinizing toward an individual breeder/owner; so, no comment on that.

This thread doesn't want to get away from the original topic so it is now closed. Please feel free to start a new thread if you would like to discuss standing a male at stud and which females to accept.
