I wouldn't. If it opened on it's own, flush with a syringe of peroxide and it will bubble all the gross gunk out so it can heal.

Agreed, if it's coming back that's pretty much the only way to get rid of it.

 

The mix we had, still has one on her rump. It's not hurting her. It's not spreading. It's just there and it comes up and goes down. We decided to do nothing as it was fairly inactive and she's 12 years old. IMO, if it's just hanging out, then it bothers us more than it bothers them.

 

Well thats how i am. ramsey is 8 and he never licks or scratches it. I just always fear the worse.

 

Haha! I am a nurse, and I LOVE stuff like that! So naturally, I would never leave such a fun thing alone. For most folks, though, a vet visit would be in order. Unless the cyst capsule is removed, the cyst will re-fill. It somewhat resembles the outer shell of a pearl onion. You can keep expressing the white cottage cheese-like material, but it will continue to fill up unless the capsule is removed.

Thanks folks. I'm going to read up some more on this tonite and will do a Vet visit before i proceed.

 

Rafi has one on his back but it doesn't bother him so I've not worried about it.
