I know ramsey has one on his side. I took him to the vet last year.
i was shown the syringe full of the oily matter. Should i try to drain it myself or leave it alone? I do have the syringes that i use for my Methotrexate injections.

Why didn't the vet just remove it? It's in a 'sack" under the skin. They can take the whole thing out
Agreed, if it's coming back that's pretty much the only way to get rid of it.

The mix we had, still has one on her rump. It's not hurting her. It's not spreading. It's just there and it comes up and goes down. We decided to do nothing as it was fairly inactive and she's 12 years old. IMO, if it's just hanging out, then it bothers us more than it bothers them.

Haha! I am a nurse, and I LOVE stuff like that! So naturally, I would never leave such a fun thing alone. For most folks, though, a vet visit would be in order. Unless the cyst capsule is removed, the cyst will re-fill. It somewhat resembles the outer shell of a pearl onion. You can keep expressing the white cottage cheese-like material, but it will continue to fill up unless the capsule is removed. :)
