while my mom was baby sitting my dog she said a mink slipped under the fence and was trying to get in the bird pen she let my dog to use the bathroom my dog ran out the 2 tangled up and in a few seconds she killed the mink she ended up bitten in the face on her snout

after this my dog was really really happy and crazed for a long time anyways i was wondering should i be worried about her seeing my cat again? her and my cat have a bit of a bond i guess but a mink and a cat remind me a lot of each other and the whole thing is pretty messed up the way it was told to me. I am not a big fan of dogs killing other animals but prey drive is a part of her and the birds in my moms yard attract predators sometimes. Anyways please let me know. Thanks.

yeah it healed the mink got her in the face but it healed fast , i hate stuff like this not into dogs waging war on wildlife unless its inside the house like my dog or cat catching a rat or mouse cause im afraid of fires or sickness spread by them dog had no reaction to my cat shes just over the top happy with herself about it like she caught a squirrels or something just dont want her to catch a rabbit or something i dont know why rabbits love my yard so much also

she is back to grooming my cat etc.. she must be good and safe was just a bit worried for a second cause it takes a **** of a dog to take out a animal like a mink reminds me a lot of a cat, but my cat must trust my dog she lets her guard down around it shes knowm my brothers dog much longer for like 2 years and still she will never turn her back to the dog and will always try to claw it she doesnt claw at my dog much at all and she lets my dog lick her so they have a pretty good relationship i wanna keep it that way.

Dogs often come to see cats in the home as being part of the pack, rather than prey, even if they will chase other cats outdoors.

I have three cats and have never had any trouble with my dogs around the cats. They've never chased or threatened the cats. On the other hand, my cats also know not to run from the dogs. They'll just hiss and tell them to back off if they're being overly rambunctious with the kitties.

Outside cats - like when we lived out in the country we always had cats show up in the barn - are a different story entirely. My girl Ronja likes to chase them because they'll run away from her. She wouldn't hurt them but has never caught one, anyway. They're usually up a tree long before she can get to them - or called back. She would never chase our indoor cats like this and never has, either.
