Anyone have their dog handy? I need you to check something...
I noticed awhile ago, 6+ months, that when Keystone lays like this:
...i can feel a firm, golf ball sized lump right at the base of his sternum. it’s not attached to the skin, nor the bone, and you can’t feel it when he’s standing upright/normally. this is where it is although it’s easier to feel when his chest is pointing straight up.
i never thought much of it because i assumed it was one of his organs (hoping it still may be)... looking at a diagram however only points to the stomach or the spleen.
it’s not an obstruction, and he’s behaving totally normal otherwise. no changes in appetite, weight or energy.
i compared him to a few other dogs (a lab a pit and a cattle dog), none of them have it.
does yours?
