Beautiful dog. She might be sleeping a lot due to all the stress from her past life at the shelter, etc. Now that she has found a safe home she feels comfortable to sleep off all that stress. Enjoy your new family member.

4 of our rescues

If I have attached the photos correctly, here are four of our rescues. Two of them we lost in Nov/Dec of last year, hard stuff. Still have two, the sable and the black pictured in our kitchen.

Here's my two shelter dogs! Sasha was adopted from high kill county shelter in Colorado about 6 years ago. Blitz came from a shelter in South Carolina over 8 years ago.

 

 

Chance find at a high kill shelter waiting on my nephews bday party to start at the park next door! We love our Strider man!

Here's my shelter girl. Brigitta has been with me a year now and got her from a rescue that accepted her from a high kill shelter in Central California.

 

Great pics on this thread of some great looking dogs.

I drove to Indiana this past weekend to adopt Kali from a county pound. She was purchased as a purebred puppy and then dumped at the pound by her owners. At just seven months, I'm hoping there is time to recover from the complete lack of attention and training she has received up until now.

 

I wish you all the best. I'm sure with love and dedication you will have very few issues. Thank you for saving Kali.

Here's Willow She's not a GSD but she was a shelter dog.....

 

Hi- meet Henry. He's our RSPCA rescue dog. We've had him about 5 weeks and he's roughly 5months old. We're not sure of his breed but believe he's a kelpie x German shepherd. Such a gorgeous boy.

My Boy Diesel

This is Diesel I adopted him from the RSPCA last week, we're doing a lot of work on not mouthing (such sharp puppy teeth!) and he's coming along really well. He only has three legs (he had to have one amputated) but that doesn't slow him down

 

This is Reagan, my 1 year old GSD that we adopted a few months ago from our local shelter!

Bear is from the Barron County Humane society:

Quinn came from a small rescue outside of Independence, WI. She was found wandering in someone's field so matted and dirty that they weren't even sure what kind of dog she was! Her tail and ears were so badly done (cropped way too short and weird, and docked too short) as well, and for awhile they thought she was some kind of mutt. We had her DNA tested, and she actually is a white Schnauzer, so that's good to know.
This picture was a stop for gas on the way to pick up Bear from the Barron County shelter.

And, even though she's no longer with us (died at age 15 after a stroke last Nov.), Tilly was a Norwegian Elkhound we got from the Clark County Humane society in WI.
Her muzzle and face turned white as she got older, and people always mistook her for a small husky. When she was younger, she had a black face. She was about 14 in this picture:

My Sweet Senior Lady

This is Kelly, who I adopted earlier this year. Her age is a guestimate, anywhere from 9 to 11 years old. She is a gentle soul and loves everyone she meets, and gets along great with my other non-GSD rescue dog and two rescue cats. I can't envision my home without her.

The love of my life, adopted 7 years ago from the dumb friends league in Colorado.

 

My baby Maverick. Adopted last May 2014. The vet guestimates at 1 1/2 year old. My husband and I adore him!

 

Our rescue, Adriana, whom we got from a wonder GSD rescue just two days ago. Please go to the "Introductions & Welcome Mat" forum to hear our story (or some of it). My daughter and our chihuahua, Lucky, just hours after Adriana joined our family.

Love this big love-gushing, jealous, crazy smart rescue. He is the BEST papa to Hansa.

 

Rescued her from the shelter at the end of January I think she likes being adopted!

 

Foxy the black one is not really a shelter dog she is a street dog. Shelter said they where overrun and despite posting her picture we couldn't find her owner and yes took her to 2 vets to look for chips.

The one that looks like a German shepherd is from the shelter.
