I'm new to the forum, but isn't this the Pictures section, or is there somewhere else to go?
Yes, it is!

Sorry, I should have been clearer....... if you start your own thread, then you will probably get more people looking at your pictures.

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

I never made it to failed foster - I failed on transport!

Sammy's shelter picture...

And now...

Sammy was dumped in the night box at a local kill shelter. Luckily the shelter called the rescue I do some volunteer work for, as his time was very limited. Sammy has been with us about 7 months - he's around 16 months old now. He's an amazing boy!

I've had him 5 months and would like to find a home for him so I can get another one out of boarding, rehab and rehome...I volunteer w/a relatively new group, only been est. for 13 months. http://www.mogsrescue.com

Here's a link to Jester's info.: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11449368

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

This is Peanut (she is around 13 yrs old). We rescued her from the street several years ago - in January!!! I didn't have the heart to leave her at the shelter. So we kept her after a month of trying to find her family. (We think she was dumped at the park near our house.)

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

Hope, I picked her up from a shelter about 10 days ago.. They had her quite a while but she's still a little underweight.. And still has a persistent ear infection I'm working on. Her ears are pretty torn up.

They told me she was a breeder recue and had some mange, was emaciated and badly infected ears she has clawed up until they cauliflowered and they took her from a kill shelter on the day she was supposed to be put down, and had her for months, and were starting to think she'd never get a home.

Life will be very good from now on though...

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

I met Nadia's previous family after mass, they were looking for a family to take in Nadia. I happened to step up to the plate since I've always wanted a GSD. Her family was going to take her to the shelter the next day. It's been seven years now and I enjoy every minute of it.

Here she is at Hume Lake and of course she has on snow boots as well.

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

My first dog Basti. She was a rescue but died after only 1.5years.
Because of bad breeding her heart had about 5(!!!!!) times the size of a normal hear.
She was the best dog in the world.
She made me want to fight against back-yard breeding and puppy mills and all that...

Re: Shelter dogs - post yours

this is my Athena, she was recused from the local Shelter. This is after I have had her for over a year. When we first got her she was skinny as a rail. She is a great dog as all of my GSD have been.... Had to get her a good harness, the El-Cheapie petsmart nylon harness was no match for her. She devolped a system to escape from it on every walk no matter how we adjusted it. We like this one since it doesn't pull on her neck, but centers on her chest and she is more comfortable on walks.
