Has Gunner signed his contract to become the spokesdog for "Dr. Dan's Dog Dentistry" yet? Those are some beautiful pearly whites!

Nah, wouldn't want it to go to his head! :D
He does have some pearly whites. I give him frozen marrow bones a few times a week. He had a check up when he turned 3 and the vet was so impressed with his teeth. He asked me what I did to make them so clean and white and knowing he'd give me another lecture about raw bones, I lied and said I brushed them. :)
Which I have done on occasion so not technically a lie. ;)

I thought we were talking about real smiles, where the dog shows all his teeth? I've never had a GSD that did it, but I have several client dogs who do....

It doesn't really matter. Sometimes just their facial expression makes them look like they're smiling, whether teeth are showing or not.
That's what I thought the OP meant by smiling.

Freckles up there is a perfect example. If that's not a smile, I don't know what is. :)

smile is not about showing teeth (as much as possible:)).

my girl is so serious, that i have just one blurry picture of her smiling.

i only have one smiley pic but here it is. when he was a baby...he loved his noise making raccoon. next kind of thread like this will have to be "show me your dog's best impression of elvis" you know...when their lips get stuck on their canines. it always makes me laugh :)

Fair enough, but I do love the smilers with a toothy grin, they always look so goofy... usually they sneeze right after they smile making it even goofier!

Alpine has 2 different smiles.
1st pic is her normal smile, with all teeth.
2nd pic is the smile she does on command, with just front teeth. In that pic she is balancing a treat on her nose AND smiling :)
LOL!! I literally laughed so hard from these!!!

The pictures in this thread are so cute! :D

This thread is ah-maaaazing! We're working on Baxter's "smile" command, but he doesn't hold it yet. But here's his big, dopey grin!
