Do you have a favorite picture of your smiler? The Bark Magazine features a collection of reader submitted photos of their smiling dogs in each issue. They never have as many German Shepherds as I'd like to see, like Grace's smile for instance:

Almost every photo I have of my boy Nero is with his mouth open showing of his beautiful smile and his pearly whites, lol.:)

Nah, wouldn't want it to go to his head! :D
He does have some pearly whites. I give him frozen marrow bones a few times a week. He had a check up when he turned 3 and the vet was so impressed with his teeth. He asked me what I did to make them so clean and white and knowing he'd give me another lecture about raw bones, I lied and said I brushed them. :)
Which I have done on occasion so not technically a lie. ;)

I thought we were talking about real smiles, where the dog shows all his teeth? I've never had a GSD that did it, but I have several client dogs who do....

Ginger, a Standard Poodle

And Gerard, some kind of muttley terrier thing:

It doesn't really matter. Sometimes just their facial expression makes them look like they're smiling, whether teeth are showing or not.
That's what I thought the OP meant by smiling.

Freckles up there is a perfect example. If that's not a smile, I don't know what is. :)

i only have one smiley pic but here it is. when he was a baby...he loved his noise making raccoon. next kind of thread like this will have to be "show me your dog's best impression of elvis" you know...when their lips get stuck on their canines. it always makes me laugh :)
