Babies this young in a shelter don't usually last very long! This is my first post, so I apologize if I've messed anything up.

Re: Safe!!!! Riverside, CA - BLK Momma w/babies

Well pups are 4 weeks. Momma is a bit difficult, so we had to get the foster home a kennel to contain her. She had kennel cough and unfortunely the babies got sick too. The little male died a couple days after getting to the foster home. The two darker pups developed pneumonia a week and a half ago and I picked them up and have been hand raising them. They were 1/2 the size of the sable pups. They are growing, but are still behind, they only weigh about 38 oz. They just started to get meat with their formula, so hopefully they will start to really grow. Here are some pictures of the two from today:

oh my gosh, they are sooooo cute!!! I'm sorry everyone ended up getting sick but thankful they have such caring people to nurse them back to health. My thoughts and prayers remain with this little family. Thanks for the update

Re: Safe!!!! Riverside, CA - BLK Momma w/babies

"The Biscuit" (momma dog) was moved yesterday to a different foster home as her pups are weaned and she is ready to find a family of her own. She is now "offically" available for adoption. She is very sweet and loves people (even more than her babies!)

The pups are all together again and I will post new pictures soon.

Here is a link to the Biscuit's bio page. Here are some pictures they took of her yesterday:

Re: Safe!!!! Riverside, CA - BLK Momma w/babies

We have a problem with little Beyla.

She has been making a wheezing noise which was attributed to the pneumonia not clearing up, but after weeks of antibotics I thought there may be some else. She is at the Specialty hospital now and they are going to scope her to determine if she has PAA. X-Rays of her chest showed an area of her esophagous over her heart that is wider than it should be, indicating a possible stricture or her aorta growing around it. This is why the noise has gotten worse instead of better. It is hard to believe there is anything wrong, as she eats and is very playful and is getting bigger!

Just waiting to her what is wrong and what if anything can be done. A family met her a few weeks ago and wanted to adopt her when she was ready to go.
