Kongs Durable Frisbee SUCKS! I need one that's GSD tough!

I am on a quest to find a frisbee that is Brutus tough. My boy LOVES to play frisbee but his frisbees never last more than a day or so. So I heard that Kong makes a super durable frisbee. I bought him one on Saturday, the Kong extremely durable frisbee for $16. By Sunday (today) it is torn, badly!

I thought where better to ask than here, where there are so many GSD owners-how long do your frisbees last, and which one is the most durable? I need one that is not just tough, but GSD tough.

I have the Jawz hyperflite, but don't let my dogs have them unless we are playing...they don't float in water either. My dogs always carry it like a taco for some odd reason!

I also like the Wubba flyers, they are great for tugging(look like a donut) and are good in water, but won't last if your dog wants to shred it. Better on the teeth, spongy...but throwing it, it doesn't get much air.

Those soft bites don't last long around here at all, but they are great when alive! My bad on the Wubba, it is a Chuckit! Had to go out to my training gear bag(I am saving this toy for training only!) to see who actually made it:
Amazon.com: Chuckit! Amphibious Flying Ring (Colors Vary): Pet Supplies I can't say how durable it is, as I only use it now for obedience reward, but Karlo looooves it!! The flying squirrel is a favorite too, but not left with the dogs to shred.

I too thought the Kong Frisbee would be durable enough for my Sheps. But, it lasted I'd say about a day before it was ripped in half, lol. So, I went online and looked at A LOT of frisbees. I finally found one that had great reviews and I decided to give it a try.

It's called a Nylabone Frisbee. Here is a link to the website I bought it from: Nylabone Frisbee @ PetCareRx.com.

I've had it for 5 months now and it's still going strong. My dogs claw it, bite it, pull it, etc. They do just about everything to it and it's still intact. It's by far the best frisbee I've ever bought and of course most durable.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I just went online and ordered the Jawz Hyperflite, I will let update everyone with how that one works out. I will keep the other suggestions in mind though for next time. I also ordered one of those motorized ball/cat in a bag toys. I know that it won't last anything but it was only 4 bucks so hopefully my boys will have at least one good play session with it before it breaks!

Haven't had much luck with the Kong frisbees - they get chewed up and torn up pretty quick. The Nylabone frisbee I tried, it didn't last any longer than a normal plastic one - chewed up to bits in record time.

In a previous thread the Chewber was recommended and I bought one. It works as advertiesed! I got the black (extra tough) sport one, and it is amazing! Soft and pliable, really flies, and not a mark on it despite being used as a tug toy and a chew toy. Five paws up!

No kidding? Lexus had those Kongs chewed in a matter of days and we didn't let her play with it other than throwing and fetching, but it still disintegrated. Started at the outer rim, which eventually had to be peeled off so you're left with a stupid piece of rubber. :D

I couldn't throw that frisbee worth a darn anyway.

But now this Nylabone has been great! She has managed to get the far right and left side of the bone on top off (she'd torn it, we took it off) but the base of the bone on top is intact still and it's much easier for her to pick up. The edges are intact still... it's just amazingly tough. I wonder which Nylabone you had. I love this frisbee -- and better yet, *I* can throw it nice and straight and far.

It was like the one you linked, except it wasn't a glow in the dark. I guess it depends on what each dog likes to chew on. :)
The chewber is the first frisbee to date that has not gotten chewed to bits - we went through the chuckit frisbees (flying squirrel), the nylabone, kong frisbee, miscellaneous other frisbees, but the chewber trumps them all! Now if only they would come out with a floating one . . .

interesting thread, masi is a frisbee freak, and wanda (her breeder) just sent her two which we got in the mail today..Not sure what they are, will have to 'look' at the label on one and get back to ya..

They are PINK and jell like but THICK,,she LOVES her frisbees, and only gets them when we are doing frisbee...will try to get a pic later

We have 2 of the Hyperflite Jawz that I bought on a recommendation from someone on a thread I did this past winter. (on my phone now so I can't link to it) and they have held up to a MN winter and almost daily use. 2 dogs, 2 discs and lots of tug. I'd get another one in a heartbeat. They don't float, but my concern was shattering in extreme cold. Not an issue and not one puncture. We use them, on average, 5 days a week, sometimes for a long time, other times only a dozen or so tosses. We play a little tug with them, and they only get them for play.
Highly recommend them.

Yay for this thread. We had the red kong frisbee and it was doing fine (only used it for fetching, didn't let him have it when I wasn't playing with him) until one day Dax laid down when he got it and immediately chewed a nice circle right out of the middle of it.

I would like a new and durable one since it is so much easier to throw a frisbee further than a ball (I suck at throwing balls, I usually accidentally throw Dax's ball straight up and into our neighbor's yard).

Here's Masi's new one (she got 2):)

and even after our 2 mile walk, with her carrying the darn thing the entire way, she is still ready to go/she was not happy when she figured out I was just snapping a pic:)

frisbee

I got a heavy/thick jelly one from Tractor Supply mid summer last year and it has lasted fine so far. It has gotten deformed a little (the bump in th middle sticks up now rather than being down. Raya will tug with it and play fetch and chew and thrash with it and I have even seen her canine's stretch it a good inch or so and she has only punctured it a couple times but no rips or chunks missing. They have a smaller version there now that I am going to get as a backup. This thing has been the best 5 bucks I've spent on a dog toy in 15 years. It even went through the last couple weeks of teething. I tried to find a link on thier site but they don't have it listed.

Jakoda you posted as I was typing: Raya's is the same color just her's is smooth rather than textured but looks just like the same material.
