Bear is 4. He’ll be 5 in June. I was close to adding a female instead. I considered a litter out of Gero and another out of Bordy. The Gero litter was lost and I decided that Kodak’s litter would probably get me closer to what I wanted. All y guys get along though. Females have a way of messing that up.

That was back when I trained with Leon at DSC San Diego. It’s on fiesta island. I liked it there. *2 under 4 haha. It’s 6 months, 2 years 6 months, 4 years 4 months. I’ve been pretty specific about where I want the other dogs before bringing in the next. When I do, it’s about establishing the intial relationship then keeping the peace. It’s easy now with where they are. Bear is Bear. I don’t see anyone ever giving him trouble. The Cion and Kodak relationship is one to watch closely as he matures.

When I start tracking in the line I don’t really straddle them. I start slightly behind them so I can body block them from turning around. I typically don’t worry about going off track. There’s no reward there so they will learn to stay in the track. Use a slight pop at each footstep. You can use it latter to tell them to look when they start skipping steps. Depending on who you talk to and your goals skipping steps is a good sign l because it means they are actually following the track instead of the food. To slow them down I introduced a bunch of 45 degree turns on the straights so it would zigzag. Give it a few sessions to see results. Managing speed on the track isn’t my forte so results may vary.
