You remind me a lot of me as a handler. A lot of people are overly demonstrative, loud, over exaggerating. Dogs don't need that... Or maybe good dogs don't need that. I've never understood screaming commands at a dog. They can hear a mouse fart at 100m.
I think that remaining calm leads to a clear headed dog. I'm only as excited as the dog needs me to me.
You guys look great. Definitely a team. I like the sharp platz at the hide. It brings his focus to you and offers a chance to correct the dog for losing his mind because he knows where the decoy is and his focus is in the wrong place.
Same deal with the variation in speed. Pay attention dog, and he does. You guys look great.
awesome work. awesome dog. he looks so focused and in great control of himself. this has me wondering, does Kodak like to play like a pet dog might, or is this what he does for "fun"?
While you won’t see him going up to strangers or strange dogs looking for attention, he does enjoy just about anything you’d think a typical pet dog would. He spends a lot of his day trying to coerce me, bear, or Cion into playing. Of course he absolutely loves working. Other than an issue that we have to work through.
I showed both dogs at the New England regionals this year. Cion had a 91, 84, 80 for his 6th 3 in total. Kodak had an 83,81, 84 for his first 3. 255 for Cion in total and 248 for Kodak.
Congratulations! I love seeing good news these days! I hope it’s fun preparing Kodak. He looks like a whirlwind of fun, anger and fur 😆 Beer and steaks all around?
