There is no "expect" there are only averages and breed standards. You may have the largest or smallest or average in the litter. Here's a chart that might be seen as average and your pup would be considred on the large side. Post pictures!

I have seen that chart but he seems advance than his age.

 

You may have a big one on your hands or he may plateau.
Trust me, I understand; I have a large male GSD. Too large ....

 

Really ? Do u have any photos ? What plateau means here ? Its my first dog so I am bit curious and nervous

 

"plateau" meaning they level off and the rate of growth/weight gain slows.
This is my big boy, was 100 pounds at 12 months, ended up about 115, love him to bits but too large for breed standard (desired breed size).

My boy was 56 lbs at 6 months. At his first birthday he was 26 inches and 85 lbs. He'll be going for vaccines next month and I'll see how much he weighs then, but his growth rate really slowed down at around 9 months.

Please don't fret about how big he is going to be. Genetics play a big roll in this. Resist the temptation of growing him too quickly as it can have a negative effect on his joints. Feed him an appropriate diet and appropriate amounts and what will be will be. I have a 4 month old gsd and I am feeding Royal German Shepherd Puppy. He is growing steadily a

My boy was consistently taller than the charts. At 4 months and beyond he was 4 to 5 inches taller than charts at every month. I kept a journal on his height and weight and figured he was really going to be a big boy. at nine months he slowed his growth rate and by 12 months he is exactly 26 inches.

 

Thanks. So my boy will be pretty much around 26 at the end.

 

There's no telling at a young age, thye go through different spurts and stop stages; som estop earlier, some later and you won't really know until 12-18 months but what they are at 10-12 months is generally it for height.

 

Simon is 15 months old, 27, 80lbs even. We had our vet look at him the other day; you can see ALL his ribs but that was intentional to keep weight off of his elbow that we did surgery on in August. Ideally, he probably needs a few lbs on....

What your pup turns out to be will largely be determined by genetics. Stop fretting and enjoy his development. Please resist the temptation to grow him too quickly as this can have a negative impact on his joints. Feed him high quality, appropriate food for his age and breed
and he will turn out fine. I have a 4 month old, male gsd. I am feeding him Royal Canin German Shepherd Puppy formula. He is growing steadily at a healthy rate. We cannot predict but we can enjoy the ride
