Can someone provide me with a list of Texas (hopefully central) breeders?

The better breeders in Texas are in the DFW area. The only good breeder in central Texas I'm aware of is Meerhout in Hutto. They breed working line, but not often & they always have a waiting list.

I would not limit your search to just the state. I know it's a big state & I'm in central Texas. My current pup came from Ohio. Remember this pup is hopefully going to be with you for many years. You want to find the best fit for your household. Tell us something about your experience with GSDs, your household, what you want to do with your dog, etc. and perhaps folks can make some recommendations to you.

Thanks for the comment.

We love our friends white German shepherds temperament. Great with humans and other animals but intense when sensing danger (just can see how she walks towards or looks at the door). She’s the main reason as of late pushing us to the breed. We have a gated property for the dog and I work on acreage in 2 different cities that the dog would come out to some eventually. The main goal is to have a good pet (good with our 1 cat) and somewhat of a ‘guard dog’ (loosely).

I have also seen Gsdnet referenced to on here quite a bit so we are open to adjusting the search radius

I would definitely check with Camilla at Sentinel Harts. No idea she had moved to Texas. Really nice dogs!

Hello

I am SentinelHarts German Shepherds. I have been breeding working lineage German Shepherds for over 15 years in Northern California. About a year ago my husband and I purchased our dream property in Gonzales County Texas almost smack dab between Austin, San Antonio and Houston. In July 2023 we moved here with all of the dogs. We plan to build our kennel and forever home here over the next few years. I am active in the sport of Schutzhund (IGP) and I have dogs titled in IGP and Herding. All of my breeding dogs are health certified.

I am sure it will take a while for my kennel to be associated with Texas after being in California for so long but I am doing my best to get the word out.

I have a website and a very active Facebook page

Yeah, I'd have left CA too. Too bad as much of the state is really beautiful, but too much other crap to deal with. Welcome to Texas!
