Anyone use a training vest?

I’ve usually use a fanny pack and a jacket with pockets to hold whatever stuff I need on a given day. I’ll put a tug loop through my fanny pack strap to hold that, and the ball, treat, and e collar can fit in the fanny and my pockets. I’ve seen some jackets with a magnetic insert for a magnetic ball, and I’d like to try that. All the pockets look great too. But I can’t find one I could see myself wearing, didn’t like the style I guess. For people who have tried a dog training vest - did you find it to be a useful thing? Do you always take it out to train with or just on certain occasions?

Dog training vests can be great, but I bought a gardening vest many years ago. The weight is good for me and the pockets are perfect. The vest is designed for a woman's build so it isn't bulky

I have an arrak outdoors training vest for women. It is pricy, but has a great number of pockets (different sized pockets), fits well, and has held up in all weather. It is about a year old so far, has been washed 3 or 4 times, and has been part of a game of hard tug when Kai caught it in her teeth along with her ball.

I have 3 training vests (D4M, Hurtta, D-town). I used to wear them everyday, but they are too warm for the summer months (even the D-town one which is very lightweight).

I switched to training aprons a few years ago and have been using them almost daily since. The one I use outdoors is from D4M, I just leave it in the car. I have the Gappay one for indoors. I like them equally well. I also have one from Redline K9, the material is rather stiff, I don't like it as much so I rarely use it.

I made my own based on a simple sewing pattern and added the pockets myself, including a large one on the back for toys and. to put leashes in on walks. Also a couple of D-rings for a whistle, clicker etc and a pocket for my phone.
In the summer I use a gardening vest from Duluth

Nice! I’m thinking I’ll do the same with a hoodie I love. I know it’s a superficial concern, but I can’t see myself getting stoked to train in a women’s gardening vest lol. I’m thinking I’ll add a big back pocket and a smaller side pocket to my hoodie and maybe line the front pocket with some odor resistant material for treats. A phone pocket is smart too! I thought maybe I’ll cut the sleeves off for a summer version

Have an "old reliable", use aprons a lot, have a hunting vest with modifications, ordered a "real" one, too stiff, sent it back. Have notes on another I want to try (right around 200$). When I find the notes (my house is 3D where's Waldo?) I'll order one. They're good for encouraging focus with all the places you can attach prizes.

Is the main benefit of the apron over other options being the dog doesn’t scratch you if he jumps up during tug or similair play?

I ordered some neodymium magnets cuz I want to make a diy magnetic attachment to my hoodie. I saw a video where a guy dropped a neodymium cube into a 4 inch rubber ball, then fed a rope through so it was a ball on a string with a magnetic inside. I figure its safe but I do worry if the dog could crack a tooth - it seems so unlikely but even there being a chance concerns me. My magnets are coming Friday so ill have a better sense then

DH broke down and bought an Arrak Acadia Unisex Softshell vest. He was using the pouch we had which has a clip that slides over a belt. But we were noticing it is difficult for him to get his hands in and out and was interrupting the flow of the rewards. So I told him to start looking for a vest. After checking into several he settled on the Arrak, which he is very pleased with.

None of the vests I have checked out so far come in my size, really frustrating. I might check into the aprons.
