Don’t even get me started on my hermit crab obsession years ago. My kid brought one home, and suddenly I'm on a hermie forum, buying ALL kinds of equipment. They have very specific needs. My family still makes fun of me over that one. I loved those little guys.

we have a few Sw hermits in our display and when I tell you they are so healthy!! so cute with the little feet and everything however I am in the process of growing the worlds biggest turbo snails rn.

You should start again the nano tanks are so fun! My friend has a nano with just mushrooms with low low equipment and maintenance and nano fish I supplied and I think he spends about 1hr a week on care.
I swear I sat in front of that nano like I was watching tv, lol

They are honestly awesome I would love to have one of my own someday. might take the plunge. I’ll send photos if I go through with it.
Do it! I’d love to see it

My 5mo puppy split my upper lip playing tag. Should I stop putting my face so close or should I give him away...hellacious animal quite.
LOL you can send that monster over here.

Some people don't get puppies. I LOVE puppies. I consider a dog a pup until it is 24 months old. Then it is a young adult until it reaches 4 years. I expect puppies to have accidents, to chew on stuff, sometimes stuff I don't want to lose. I expect them to get barky with other dogs and even to have a period where they aren't too sure of other people. I like figuring them out, changing up training to suit the dog. I like watching them play with other dogs. I like watching their personalities develop. I am not in any hurry for them to be perfect. Thank God they aren't trying to make me perfect.

Yesterday my girl Gracie reached up on the counter and grabbed a pound of ground meat my wife put there in preparation for some chilli she was making. She took it back but at that point it was considered contaminated (after being dragged on the floor). My wife went bezerk, I stayed calm and told her she should know better than put an open package so close to the edge. My wife didn't appreciate my comment LOL!
But it's true, I always tell her, at that age stuff will happen. You have to child proof for a puppy as if it were a 3 year old human.

They are just evil. ;) Some years ago I was on the couch and bent forward to do something. Varik was playing with my husband and lunged away from him in play. He smacked me straight in the nose. I couldn't see or hear for a minute, it was so painful. I really thought he must have broken it since it hurt so badly, but nope ... not even a nosebleed. I was lucky! Big ole lunkhead!

We were thrown right into it with our first GSD puppy. She kept waking me up and night and biting my children during the day. I considered returning her but we were already attached and I never give up a dog. We stuck with it, started training and suddenly we were better owners. Once we figured out what we were doing, she became the perfect dog. 90% of it was our fault, 10% was the dog being a normal puppy.
We recently got our first GSD fro
m a very good breeder. I have other working breeds and thankfully I appreciate the value of setting boundaries from the start and starting training early. We got him at 8 weeks old and he went into training at 12 weeks of age. He is now 16 weeks old and doing quite well with his manners. We keep him on a consistent daily routine which also helps.
I have a female GSD puppy of 16 months old , worse dog I’ve ever owned and I now have a broken wrist because of her , she decided to bolt with me and her on a leash , chasing a cat who suddenly came out of nowhere and ran behind us , I was dragged by her on a concrete car park floor etc my leg all scraped and I eventually fell onto my arm and wrist. These GSD dogs are a nightmare even when training them they need to be trained every single day.yesterday she decided to start barking none stop at this nasty French woman, who was being verbally annoying to me , it was this woman’s cat who ran behind us and she comes out of her entrance building rattling her set of keys , and that’s how I fell last time? As the cat ran behind Me and my dog, and my dog went crazy, ! In any case I think GSD dogs make terrible family dog, terrible companion

I don't agree with you about GSD's. My kids grew up with a GSD. Best family dog ever.
My husband and I just purchased a GSD from a very well respected breeder. We started formal training at 12 weeks of age in a 6 week AKC puppy class. He is now being trained with a private trainer that specializes in german shepherds and malinois.
Here is the thing about GSD's....They are highly intelligent. They are also herding/working dogs that need mental stimulation and exercise. If you don't start training early and establish that you are the Alpha in your pack you are in for a tough time as they mature. I would get her evaluated by a good dog trainer and get going on some serious training if you want to keep this dog.
When properly trained and socialized they are amazing, loyal family dogs. Good luck
