If you can't prove the pedigree, why would you want to?
I don't know any responsible breeder that would use a stud without pedigree information.

Yes.do you think anyone would still let us breed him if he doesnt have papers?
This assumes that a dog without papers will produce ' badly bred' puppies. Also that a puppy without papers is 'badly bred'. I have owned 2 mutts before this well bred GSD and they were terrific dogs.People breed dogs without papers all the time, so it's not a matter of will someone "let" you, it's a matter of finding someone with a female who wants to help contribute to the overpopulation of badly bred dogs.![]()
I don't think it's a good idea at all, but what is it about him that makes you want to breed him? Do you know anything at all about his pedigree? Just curious.
:thumbup:I would look at it this way, puppies bred from owners that do it "just for fun" from dogs that don't have papers are going to sell for a very low price. Now we have very responsible dog owners on this board but in general when people pay less for puppies they are much less dedicated to proper care and "making it work" should problems arise and in turn those dogs end up in shelters. I'm sure with as much as you love your dog you wouldn't want to see his sons and daughters end up adding to the already overwhelming amount of shelter dogs!
