If you can't prove the pedigree, why would you want to?
I don't know any responsible breeder that would use a stud without pedigree information.
People breed dogs without papers all the time, so it's not a matter of will someone "let" you, it's a matter of finding someone with a female who wants to help contribute to the overpopulation of badly bred dogs. :(

I don't think it's a good idea at all, but what is it about him that makes you want to breed him? Do you know anything at all about his pedigree? Just curious.

Yes.
im dont think i want to breed him, i as just curious. i just love his easy going temperament.
Sorry - I don't think you are going to find a breeder that would agree to breed a dog with no registration papers. The best you can do is to find someone that is in the same boat as you-BUT what would be the purpose?
leave the breeding to the professional breeders. don't breed because you have a dog that you think should be bred. why would you want to breed?
is your dog and the other dog titled, surveyed, ex-rayed and whatever else goes into breeding. the dogs you want to breed, are they suitable?
don't do it. leave the breeding to the pros.
Rather than breeding a dog without papers it might be better to get a puppy and raise the puppy with Zero as a mentor.

This assumes that a dog without papers will produce ' badly bred' puppies. Also that a puppy without papers is 'badly bred'. I have owned 2 mutts before this well bred GSD and they were terrific dogs.
Mutts can be fantastic dogs, they can live very long and healthy lives, they can be smart, sweet and loyal companions but they are a mistake and they should not have been born.

There are way too many dogs and cats in the world because people:
1) Dont spay/neuter their pets and let them roam around the neighborhood
2) They breed their pets for money
3) They just want one puppy or kitten from their pet
4) They think that their dog/cat is so great that other people would love to have one

If more people were responsible then we wouldn't have so many animals dying every single day in shelters. :teary:

Breeding should be left to reputable Breeders, people that are looking to better the breed, people looking to breed healthier GSD's and GSD's that have great temperment and the ability to preform any task that their owner gives to them.
ditto LaRen...AND a reputable breeder stands behind all their puppies...i.e. if for any reason a buyer cannot keep their dog (for the lifetime of the dog) the breeder steps in and takes responsibility for that dog by taking it back.

Yes mixes and "badly bred" purebred (i.e. accidental/irresponsible breeding, byb, puppymill) dogs can make awesome pets...all of my dogs have been from such backgrounds. But how did I acquire them?? Through shelters and rescues because that's where they ended up due to not having a reputable breeder standing behind them. They of course were the lucky ones.....

We have an epidemic...the number of animals dying in shelters is overwhelming. Leave breeding to the experts only.
I would look at it this way, puppies bred from owners that do it "just for fun" from dogs that don't have papers are going to sell for a very low price. Now we have very responsible dog owners on this board but in general when people pay less for puppies they are much less dedicated to proper care and "making it work" should problems arise and in turn those dogs end up in shelters. I'm sure with as much as you love your dog you wouldn't want to see his sons and daughters end up adding to the already overwhelming amount of shelter dogs!

There are so many unwanted dogs in shelters, no one will want them without papers. There is no reason to breed unless you really think you can improve the breed by doing so. I won't breed Reagan because as much as I love him, I know there are better Shepherds out there.
