Our beautiful Xena turned out to be the lifesaving boost of love that was needed by a litter of tiny pups who were taken in by the AC officers a couple of weeks ago. The 'Phoenix pups, because they rose from the ashes to survive horrible circumstances at their home, were dying not only from malnutrition but also from lack of nurturing. Xena came from the same home, and even though she is not their mother, she has taken them under her wing. She nurses them, chastises them, and then goes about her business. Sadly, Xena is dog aggressive, but we have opted to try to work with her. Any dog who can give of herself the way Xena does deserves as much help as she can get! Apply online to adopt.
