Big Ben is a six year old dog who was found as a stray. He knows lots of commands, "sit, stay, heel, no, drop it, out, walk". He is a bright dog, playful dog, who just needs some more work on his housetraining. Being a German Shepherd, he needs a job to do to feel that he is being useful. It is possible that boredom is at the root of his toilet training. Big Ben is a great dog, who just needs someone to spend the time teaching him that he deserves. He gets along well with other dogs, so if you currently have a dog, bring him/her along when you come to meet him!
This pet is up to date with routine shots.
This pet has been altered.
I think he just needs a good brushing & bath & he would look gorgeous!
I'm not sure about the house training??? All the dogs are indoors.
New information on Ben
Would you like to foster Big Ben? Big Ben is a eight year old bright, playful dog who was found as a stray. He knows lots of commands, "sit, stay, heel, no, drop it, out, walk". He is very people oriented and is beginning to become bored in the shelter. He has been here for a month now. He has a problem with his bowels. His fantastic personality prompted someone to donate medication to help with his condition. If you have a fenced in yard, Big Ben would be a great dog to keep outdoors while on his medication over the next month. Big Ben is a great dog. He is calm, and gentle. He gets along well with other dogs too. So if you currently have a dog, bring him/her along when you come to meet him! Big Ben's adoption fee is waived due to his medical condition. We really need to find a home for this gentle boy.
Could his bowel problem be due to being inside 24/7? Maybe he is very well housebroken? As far as I know, these dogs are kenneled inside & only taken out when someone volunteers to walk them.
Can someone help this boy out!? Please? If you need to, I can check him out in person. He is not far from me.
I haven't visited there in a couple of years (I adopted Salem (cat) from here) but you're right, all the kennels are inside. I think I'll visit him on Saturday, take some pictures and see what I can find out about his bowel problems. Hopefully they will let me walk him as well.
