I'm interested in finding facts and figures (avg. weight, sense of smell sensitivity, etc., etc., etc.) for GSDs. I'll take any/all statistics I can get.

In this day of statistics, who would you consider as THE authority on GSDs?

Honestly, I don't think there is one.

There are so many different flavors that it really depends on your taste. I would start first maybe with showing vs working...then go from there on to different lines and standards. The standard I think it over all the same, but many people look at it differently.
