Today was one of the most tiring days I have had in a long time. First I got up and took Midnite(new GSD) to the vet, because he has a 10 day health guarantee and his ears are still bothering him and the poop is not getting any better. I'm not happy about taking him back to the clinic where the shelter is because its first come first serve type thing and Midnite is showing signs of being reactive to other dogs. He sounds like he wants to kill them, but I don't think its aggression, its his way and it has to stop, but I'll get into why I haven't started training at a class yet later. We get there and all it took was for one dog to bark and that was the end of my peaceful day. He has no obedience at all and he is strong. Well we were escorted to a quiet room with small animals. I was so bored I talked to the Macaw and he actually talked back...highlight of my day. Other people started coming in and Midnite was fine, I took the opportunity to start training watch me and leave it, then I ran out of treats:( He was very anxious and didn't want to sit down, so he got up and walked the rows of chairs several times, until they came and got us and escorted us to the room. I was quite embarrassed. Once in the room he was very excited to see the vet, but the vet was terrified of him and immediately went and got a muzzle. I didn't say anything because if that is what he has to do that is what he has to do. Then he checks his one ear and says it looks fine, I say well the other one is the problem...a look of complete dread from him. The girls came to get him to clean his ears and asked why he was muzzled...he behaved perfectly for them. Midnite also was just getting over kennel cough when I brought him home. So this is why training hasn't begun..a prong would be perfect for him but I was told that his throat is probably sore due to the kennel cough, so no pressure. While I'm at the vet with him my son is at our regular vet with the golden who has decided he doesn't want to poop and he threw up the other day...so now I'm thinking he is blocked. He is fine, no blockage, partly to do with the new food..so some kind of stuff you sprinkle on his food and time. I have been going back and forth on two houses, so now I have to go meet the realtor to put in a bid and I have to be quick because I have a baby shower to go to. So I shop for the shower while I wait for the realtor. Sign the papers, head home, get ready and go to the shower. My son calls and tells me that Robyn is coughing and woke him up doing so. I have never had a dog with kennel cough, now I have two. I come home from the shower and rush her to the emergency vet to start on antibiotics before it gets worse. I come home to let the dogs out and now Midnite has solid poop, which is always a goal for me. I'm told to keep all dogs separated because of the kennel cough, I laugh and think about people who have kids that get sick and they all pass it back and forth. So besides running non stop today, I had 3 dogs at 3 different vets, spent lots of money and now I want to go to sleep. I have to get my strength up if I plan on working with Midnite..he is going to be a challenge, but he's worth it.

I'm worn out just reading about your day. I can't imagine having to deal with it!
