Navah, has had a cold for the last few days and I have been feeling really bad for her. For two nights in a row she has been yelping in her crate to get out. I’m not sure how doggy colds work but I know my joints get sore so I was hoping that’s not what she had since she has no bed in there, just cold and hard plastic.

Last night I was feeling bad so I convinced my wonderful and amazing boyfriend to let her on the bed. We cleared the room of everything she could be bad with and pretty much barricaded the door (I don’t trust her as far as I can throw her).

To say she enjoyed her time on the bed is an understatement! Somehow she managed to take up the whole bottom half of the bed and the entire width. My boyfriend and I spent the whole night in the fetal position. Periodically through the night I would hear my boyfriend grumble or sigh in irritation and say “stupid dog!” My poor other dog who usually sleeps under the covers at my boyfriends feet had a tiny little corner on my boyfriend’s pillow with his legs hanging off the bed.

For once in the last few days she had a nice, heavy, comfortable sleep and slept throughout the night. I just hope she gets better soon or I’m going to be stiff jointed every morning! lol

Careful, it quickly becomes a habit! Raven is very good at curling up at the foot of the bed. I sometimes wake up with her laying next to me with her hand on my back or shoulder but it's just me her and a cat in a king sized bed for the most part.

The cat, however, steals the entire bed! Most mornings I wake up hanging off the bed with the cat laying as close to me as possible and seemingly saying move over more!

When Blitz first came home we let her sleep on the bed for a few nights until her larger crate came, she was a HUGE bed hog!! One morning I was having a dream that someone was pinning me down and punching me in the gut and woke to find Blitz was laying on top of my legs with her huge head on my tummy!!

Funny thing is, when her new crate came I gave her 2 more nights in the bed with us and on both those nights she laid curled up in the tiniest ball at the foot of the bed in the middle...you could not even tell she was there...I think she knew and was trying to be as good a possible so she wouldn't get evicted LOL!

Panzer sleeps in the bed every night. He's pretty good about staying in the middle, but last night he had me sleeping on a diagonal with about 6" at the end for my feet. He had played hard with a couple of Great Dane friends, so he must have been trying to sleep it off. :)

Kira does that too....she feel she has a need to be right in the middle of me and my girlfriend in bed, on her back, legs up and spread eagle, with her head resting to her side on either mine or her girlfriends shoulder.

Babsy gets to the bed first and think it is hers. It is a double bed. It SHOULD fit me and one 65 pound GSD Bitch.

She starts by laying herself draped across BOTH pillows on the top of the bed. If I move her so that she is vertical and on one side of the bed, I get in, and she flips over so that her BUTT is up by my head!!! GSDs are smart AND EVIL! She KNOWS exactly what she is doing and it is a statement of her displeasure!

So, I try to get in and tell her to MOVE! She will get off, come back up and give me BUTT.

So I get in and use HER as a pillow. She tends to get sick of that and travels to the bottom of the bed.

Sometimes I just push her over just enough to get into the bed, with my neck crooked and desperately hanging on to my corner of one of the pillows -- that is what she likes best. If I move I will fall out of the bed.

I hear her snuffling over there choking sobs of laughter off so that I am not 100% sure that she is.

Oh and the moment I have my little piece of real estate gained so I can sleep, I have to get up and use the facilities. While I am in there, she regains the rest of the pillow.

It is amazing I get any sleep at home.

Zoey wants to sleep on my feet which can get uncomfortable, she weighs 65 lbs.
DH works third shift so she has the other half of a queen size bed, you would think that would be more comfortable than my feet.

Miikka WAS a huge bed hog, too! She sleeps with us every single night. In the past, DH and I would always have to sleep in the fetal position, too. However, I got her to sleep length-wise....parallel to DH and I. She sleeps in between us. Now, her head is up on a pillow and her feet (hind legs/paws) are down by our feet....it works out sooooo much better. Now, hubby and I aren’t all scrunched up any more....we can stretch out our legs! :)

Dodger is a HUGE bed hog. Last night I let dodger get on my bed while I brushed my teeth and washed my face I come back and he's spread egeal on my twin size bed meaning there's no room for me, so i shoved him over and got in, ten minuets later he gets off and lays by my door, not what I wanted I was cold and wanted him for warmth. I called him back over and he laid back on my bed for a half hour then he gets off again *sigh*. I think he's trying to tell me to get a bigger bed. Lol which I hope to get for Christmas i've been bugging my mom since January I even showed her which one I wanted.

that's nice you let the dogs sleep
in your bed. my dog starts out the night
on the bed. sometimes during the night
he moves to floor. when it's bedtime i say to my
dog "it's sheepy time" (sheepy is the word i use for sleepy
in an animated voice). when i say "sheepy time" my will
get up and walk the hallway to the bedroom. he'll either sit
or lay down beside the bed untill we settle in. then he'll jump
on the bed and find his spot at the foot of the bed. once he's settle
in i always sit up and pet him and say "Let's go sheepy now". my
GF always complains that i'm pulling the covers off of her.

We just started letting Regen snuggle on the bed before bedtime and in the mornings, but there is no way we would ever let her sleep the night on there...she loves to fall asleep when I am studying with her head butted up against my stomach and all four legs stretched out...so that another human would have to be scrunched at the edge to even fit on the bed.
Silly dog.
We don't allow her on furniture unless we ask her on it, so whenever it happens she gets really excited. It is adorable!

lol Selzer that sounds really familiar even with a king sized bed there is never enough room. I have found basically 99.9% of the time if you use THEM as the pillow or foot rest they get irritated enough to leave willingly and not bother you anymore lol.
