I noticed that there are quite a few threads on this topic. I decided that I would try Wellnedd Core out and post my results to help everyone else that has my same problem. I've heard that the Wellness brand of food is good for picky eaters.

My Belgian is so picky when it comes to eating. I have tried so many brands of premium kibble but she won't touch it by itself. I am feeding her a raw diet mixed with Eagle Pack Holistic Select kibble right now. She eats the raw part but she is eating less and less of the eagle pack. She's litterly picking out the chicken or beef that I mixed with the kibble with and leaving the kibble. She basically prefers the raw diet and she does excellent on it. However, she is very thin (you can feel her spine, hips, etc) because she is extremely active and doesn't eat enough to keep any weight on. If anyone knows anything about Belgians they are crazy! She's a little over a year old and has a ball drive like no other. I need to find a premium kibble that can help keep the weight on her. Then for extras/snacks and treats give her chicken, beef and pork. Plus, I feel that there are nutrients that she is missing out on that she can get from the kibble.

Here's what I plan to do. I will post my results so that others can try (or avoid) what I'm doing. I bought Wellness Core for her. I'm going to feed my other dog separately and I'm going to be the only one that she gets food from. In the morning I will give her 1 cup (to start) in the morning and when I get home from work I'll give her another cup of food. I'm not going to add in any chicken, beef, or pork until I get her to eat the kibble alone. If she doesn't eat it I will pick up her bowl and try again at next feeding time.

This is going to be hard and she'll probably not eat anything for a day or so but I've got to be strong and not give in. Hopefully this will work. I will keep everyone posted! Wish Kohlee luck!

I don't know how much she weighs but my Piper is 55.3lbs and Kohlee is at least 6" taller than her. I attached an album of her pics http://www.dailypuppy.com/profile/album/2125

i'm giving the dogs wellness core and bits of raw now and then in an effort to give them a quality diet and be a bit more cost-effective (also i need to get a new fridge/freezer....ewww).

just to say the dogs are doing well on it, and love it, but you might want to watch out for a bit of gas when she starts eating it - teagan has been fine, but luc, who can be a bit farty at the best of times, got a bit gassy for a few days there.

oh, and kohlee is beautiful!!!

What a cutie she is! She has a very trim figure like my girl does (57 lbs). We're trying to get a little more weight on Heidi. When we got her, she was only 48 lbs and you could see all of her ribs.

Good luck with your experiment. I'll be interested in your results. Heidi is on Wellness Super-5 Mix and she seems to like it a lot.

I am happy to report that Kohlee ate the Wellness Core kibble tonight!!

I cheated though because I added about 1/4 cup ground chuck to it (normally I give her about 1 cup chuck). She ate every last bite! She's never done that before. I know it sounds retarded but I'm so excited!!

When I introduced her to Eagle Pack she ate it but didn't clean her bowl. I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.

Stay tuned!

This morning I used the same method of feeding Kohlee her breakfast and I'm happy to report that she ate it again!!!!

I am speechless! In fact, she even ate more than she ever has at one sitting. It was approx 1.5 cups of kibble and 1/2 cup ground chuck.

Still not getting my hopes up.. if she makes it through the week I'll be so happy with Wellness Core.

Pretty girl! Glad to hear she likes the Core - my dogs love it, but they are so NOT picky that that's not necessarily an indication of palatability for other dogs.

UPDATE:

It's been a week now and Kohlee's appetite would feed three dogs! I'm amazed and I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I greatly appreciate it. She is eating almost 4 cups of the kibble and 2 cups of ground chuck (she needs to eat this much until she gets to a healthy weight with her activitly level). She's actually in the kitchen waiting for me to prepare her dinner now. It's like she is excited!

Also, her coat is AMAZING! Two of my neighbors came over just to tell me how beautiful her coat is (and to ask what breed she is). It's so shiny and silky and shedding less.

I'm going to take some pictures this weekend.
