we are having an invisible fence installed wednesday morning around the whole yard so beamer can be off the leash, run around & we can play with her without her being on a runner.

im excited! the dogs i used to have (doberman & a mix) did great with it, im hoping the same for beamer.

anyone have any experiences?

Be careful- it doesn't always work! If they have a high prey drive, they will run through it. Other animals can also come in.

shes in obedience class right now, one on one & she was always really great with staying right by us, she followed another dog off when she was only 6 months & was gone for 7 days so we havent even tried to get her off leash since. we are going to train her with it before we let her roam around, they do training when they come install it.

how old is your dog?? we taught our boy a border. he has this imaginary line/area that he won't cross. the area stretches between our house and four of our neighbors. our neighbors like to play with our dog. so when he's out front he runs across the lawns to whom ever is calling but he won't go close to the road. i test him by having people stand in the road and call him to them and he won't cross that line. i have people walk down the road with their dogs and call him and he won't cross that line. now do i trust 100% that he won't do it, no i don't. i test him often because i really want to make sure he has it. just the other day we were out front and he takes off across my neighbors lawn i look up and a jogger was passing by. so what he was doing was running with the jogger but he stopped at that imaginary line before i could say anything. so what i'm saying is teach him some borders and use the invisible fence. i don't have the fence. i've always taught them borders. good luck with the fence. i like the name Beamer.

Hope you don't lose your dog.

And you know that the other dog from wherever that does not have the collar on can come right in your yard. Please watch your dog when outside. A lot of money wasted.!!

It is just my opinion.
