my 8 month pup has been having skin problems. first it seemed like bug bites, than allergies. he was on benerdryl, comfortis, itch stop, panalog and now the vet is giving him virbac genesis. after reading this label, i am trying to make sure it's okay to give him. he will be licking this area i'm sure, and i was just wondering if you have had used this product and is it safe if my dog should lick it. it also says to use in a well ventilated area and to wear a mask. sounds scary to me. have you used this product? what's your input on it? thanks for your answers.

It hasn't been studied in dogs less then 8 lbs OR less than 1 year of age. It has not been studied for use for more than 28 days, and is not intended for long term use. It is a steroid, and I suspect that if it is licked, then the dog is getting a dose of that orally. It can decrease some blood counts (leukocytes, lymphocytes, eosinophils), which is general immune suppression from steroids. It should not be used if there is any infection in the body or skin.

All that was found on the last page here: http://www.virbacvet.com/images/resources/detailers/Genesis_Detailer.pdf

i know i read this same page. that's really why i asked this question. i'm very skeptical of this product. i thought perhaps someone else had used it on their pup and there really is nothing to worry about. i still haven't used it on my guy. thanks for looking this up for me..
