Hi,
Has anyone give their GSD the vegetarian formula for glucosamine chondroitin? If so, I was wondering what you think of it, as far as effectiveness goes. And also if there are any brands you would recommend or de-recommend.

Thanks in advance!

I hope the reason you're looking for a vegetarian option is because he is allergic to shellfish or something and not becase you have an animal who thrives on meat eating an unnatural vegetarian diet. :(

allergy

She's allergic to shellfish; yes, there are a few vegetarian glucosamine ones out there.
She might be allergic to glucosamine but not chondroitin; I was reading about chondroitin - by itself it may be effective. I'll have to read more on it.
Thanks.;)

You might look into cetyl myristoleate - Jarrow's True CMO is my favorite, though it is beef based. There are veggie based ones too, you have to carefully read labels. The veggie based CM products do not appear to be as effective as the beef based one, but it still helps.

MSM is also an option, if tolerated. It makes my dog pee/leak.
