Most of my house dogs over the years have allowed me to do this. Some actually like it. When I begin, I keep the vacuum as far from the dog as possible and use a soft furniture brush on the longest hose I have.
Vacuuming the dog
So Mo is the second GSD I've had that likes to have her fur vacuumed. When In use the hose attachement on the vacuum, she'll come up and I'll lightly go through her fur being careful not to let it catch her skin. Tyo used to do the same thing.
I did not train this behavior and she gets no rewards from me for doing it. Just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this?
PS if you're able to do this, it is a decent way to clear out loose fur.

yes, all of my dogs like to be vac'd
I tried it and Wolfie loved it until he found out that he can get his tongue sucked in the vac! He loves that! Now I won't do it because he keeps sticking his tongue in there on purpose and I don't want him to get hurt.

thats hilarious!!!! Shasta just becomes a shadow when i vaccuum. She makes sure she can stay behind me and watch. 5 months old and she directed me to a spot i'd apparently missed when she grabbed the hose from my hand and dragged the vaccuum over. No help after that once though ~sigh~. Shelby runs for cover and Riley intentionally lays in the way.
