While there were lots of GSDs, as we all might expect, I'd like to especially point out the white GSDs in the video. Because they are DQ by AKC due to their color for lots of things, they're still out there doing very meaningful work!
But all the dog's, of any breed (and their handlers), doing SAR then or now...I salute you all! Thank you SO much for your service to mankind!
Thank you for sharing, it is very emotional.
Loved the quote:
"Dogs have given us their absolute all.
We are the center of their universe.
We are the focus of their love and faith and trust.
It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.
I remember hearing stories that search and rescues teams had to have people hide so the dogs can find them. The dogs were not finding anybody alive and the dogs were getting depressed. Deeply emotional. They are sure the light on the darkest of days. Thank you for sharing the video I enjoyed seeing all the different kinds of gsds - so many. I can’t imagine a world without these people and their dogs- who are incredibly brave and selfless- thank you.
I enjoy this site, I've learned alot as I read so many posts. I have a 6 month old German Shepherd. I crate her during the day during work hours. I come home every day to let her out at lunch. She never seems bothered by it. Ive never been a fan of leaving her in a crate. We have long walks in...

I've had a problem where I can't get my 1 and half year old, female GSD to relieve herself outside with ample time. She usually will go to the restroom sooner than later outside but sometimes she seems to hold it in. My past dogs have all been male and you could take them out and tell them to...
Hey, I haven't seen any lighthearted threads lately, so the quirk thread came to mind. Why don't we all list a couple or our dogs' quirks or funny personalities that we notice. I might be fun, and i would love to see what some of your other dogs are like. Here's two of Kias's quirks:
I have a 7yo white shepherd that we adopted when he was around 1. He’ll be laying down, even asleep sometimes, and then he will jump up and be terrified, shaking, tail tucked, and pressing himself against us as tight as possible. I don’t understand it at all. He is scared of loud noises, but...
