So all you lovely people

Here is a thread to air out all the good and naughty treats you give the pups.

What do you like best for everyday/week treats?

What do you like best for training?

What is the most unhealthy treat you give?

And what does your pooch love best!?

Hello Danielle - - -
• Low fat chicken or turkey hot dogs, cut into tiny pieces, for routine daily training treats.
• Tiny pieces of chicken or turkey during training when you what a little extra reward for the more difficult exercises.
• Tiny pieces of cooked carrots.
• Our kids like Bill Jacs as well (you might not find those in Germany).
• Hmmm unhealthy - - I would say anything that is too fatty or sugary – I don’t really know – I guess you have to use some common sense there. You don’t want to use anything that you wouldn’t otherwise feed your dog.

Hmm...

I buy this bag of what I think can only be decribed as dehydrated animal parts at the natural/holistic pet store. It has a variety of things like Bully Sticks, tracheas, beef jerky, the occasional ear, and some other stuff I don't always recognize. My dogs LOVE this stuff. And I usually give them one every other day or so. I think it helps clean their teeth and happy in their crates. PLus it's SO much cheaper to buy a variety bag than it is to buy things individually.

I like hotdogs and Natural Balance rolls cut up for training treats.

The most unhealthy treat I give is a MilkBone. I have a 10lb box that I picked up dirt cheap at Sam's and the dogs really do love them. I like to give them one before bed as a goodnight snack!

Oh and yes, I almost forgot...if Argos has a really great day at training and I'm feeling particularly proud, we swing through McDonald's and grab a double cheeseburger. Argos prefers his plain.

What do they love best? hard to say...they show a pretty equal amount of enthusiasm for anything that doesn't smell like kibble...But I would have to say the double cheeseburger!

I should answer my own questions...

What do you like best for everyday/week treats?
Pig ears as they don't stink.
What do you like best for training?
Hot dogs as they are cheap and I can get them into tiny pieces.
What is the most unhealthy treat you give?
Pupperoni sticks. They were on sale and they like 'em.
And what does your pooch love best!?
Probably bully sticks and pig ears. They are still young and will eat just about anything!
KC had this bag of treat from the states that were bacon and eggs. She loved them! Now all gone.
Haven't tried anything else besides cheese bites.

For everyday treats - they get Natural Balance Duck and Potato biscuits.

For training - Natures Recipe soft Venison squares or piece of American Cheese.

Unhealthy treat - don't really know. Those are the only treats I buy. Although, they do get pig ears about once a month so perhaps that would be in the unhealthy treat catagory?

Love the Best - NB Duck and Potato with a little bit of Peanut Butter on the end of it :)

everyday treats: dry cat food kibble pieces, ice cubes, frozen carrot slices, frozen strawberries

for training: bits of hot dog, freeze-dried liver

unhealthy treat: ...well...I don't think an occasional bite of "junk food" is actually a health issue. But I suppose Sonic tater tots, or licking the ice cream bowl would be in this category.

Love the best: peanut butter
