I’m looking into having a leather harness made for my GSD, specifically a non-restrictive, ‘y’-shaped harness.

If you could create your own, what would you include or exclude? Looking for some opinions …

Type of leather – latigo or harness?
Width of leather – ¾” or 1”?
Quick release/connect clip – would you add or not?
Belly strap – adjustable or fixed? If fixed, what size/how long should it be?
Top strap – as this is fixed, what size/how long should it be?
Other ideas?

I would contact John Rice through this link...he makes harnesses and is very experienced in tracking. Upcoming Seminars - Suzanne Clothier/Carpe Canem Inc.
There was a fb article today that I read about harnesses and how they restrict movement. I can't link it here unfortunately.
It was on Blackthorn working dogs group.

John Rice is on fb and posted a nice thread in 2018 about the way harnesses should fit. If you are on fb, you can search him and probably view it as it was set to public.
