I am a new GSD owner. I got my puppy (12 weeks old) a week ago from a friend who owns a farm. In exactly one week she walks on a leash, though mostly to follow my older lab (9 years old). She pulls to keep up, and I know the techniques to correct. My question is it too soon to correct? Should I just let her get used to walking or should I work on form?

You need to show her the right behavior before you start correcting the stuff you don't want her to do. Try some one on one leash walking without distractions and work from there.

What type of techniques do you use to correct?

Simple correction by stopping/changing direction. I don't want a show dog, or Competition dog. Freya is family. I enjoy training and interacting with her. I have trained labs, but they are easy. I don't want an uncontrollable GSD.
