Does anyone feed their dogs the Ocean Blue or the chicken ? A friend of mine feeds her dogs this and she said they got sick from this. At first she thought the dogs were picky, but they started to vomit and have the runs. She has now switched another food. I have Kai on the Blackforest. Should I switch him ?

My friends that have a natural pet supply store have had all 6 bags of Ocean Blue that they had received with the newest packaging come back for vomiting and diarrhea.
Many of these dogs had been on the Ocean Blue for months and had been fine.
They have had no other complaints with the other varieties.

Because Timberwolf did not respond in a forthcoming, client friendly manner they have discontinued carrying Timberwolf which was a very good seller for them.

Most of the dogs that were on the Ocean Blue are switching over to Wellness Core Ocean Formula. She said that so far they have had 98% success rate with that switch.

I fed Timberwolf for quite awhile (Elk and Salmon) and Dante did very well on it. However, when it was obvious that they were changing their ingredients I emailed them 3 times asking some questions about the changes.
They never responded. For $60+ a bag for food I'm not going to support a company that doesn't treat their customers right.
Has anyone heard about the Wild & Natural ? That is what Duke is on and lately he hasn't been wanting to eat all of his food, he has not been vomiting but has been having the loose stools.
now I am curious, yikes!
Gyggles - Like I said, they had not received any complaints about the other varieties, just the Ocean Blue.

I do also want to say here that I am not saying that Timberwolf has something wrong with it, that it's bad, etc.

Just my own experience and my friends that I have direct knowledge of.
From what i am hearing I would switch Dante if i were you.
Thank you! I am looking into another food anyway, since he's not been eating like normal you never know!
The wild and Natural is the other food Heidi was feeding that the dogs got sick on. So it is the Ocean Blue and the Wild & Natural. Figures, I just got a new bag of the Blackforest the other day.
They made me so angry. I loved that food for my dogs. They did so well on it, I was able to buy it in bulk at a discount, then they changed ingredients and didn't respond to questions about it, when they did they weren't entirely accurate. Ugh. Made me sad. I haven't found a food yet that has the balance that TW did.
Wow, I am sure at a loss as to what even to look for in a food now.

I tried Canadae before we got TW and he didn't seem to like it. I also tried Chicken Soup, he would not eat a bite, I tried oh shoot it comes in a purple bag LOL sorry, it was at the natural food store.

Any ideas ?
I switched Dante back in January

I switched Dante to Wellness Core (Regular grain free variety) and other than some gas he's doing very well on it.
He's actually eating less than he did on the Timberwolf and pooping less.

I'm sorry, I don't remember are you feeding an adult or a young dog?
Duke is almost 9 months old.
Why don't you poke around at DogAware?

You'll want to use caution with grain free since Duke isn't mature yet.

These are a few that come to mind as I think of what I would feed (and my friend's store), I'm at a disadvantage though because Dante can't have Barley and most of the foods with grain contain Barley these days.

Canidae
Castor & Pollux Organix
Eagle Pack Holistic Select
Evanger's
Innova
California Natural
Nature's Variety
Wellness
Wysong
The owner of the store where I shop told me they were having a lot of trouble with Timberwolf Ocean Blue because of a sourcing issue on the fish.
The TOTW Pacific formula is grain-free and doesn't have that high protein (25%) or kcals (360/cup) for that matter, as the other grain-free formulas.

Evo is 537 kcal/cup, protein @ 42% min

The High Prairie formula by TOTW is 370 kcals/cup, protein @ 32%

Just to give you an idea. I am not as well-versed in kibble information as others.

I have a 6 month old pup, and I bought the Pacific Stream for her as her kibble backup. She didn't care much for it, and has been on 100% since late Feb.

Amen. I loved it too. But Berr is allergic to so many things that I have to know what the ingredients are....I'm now feeding them Taste of the Wild but he's still not doing as well on it as he used to on TWO.
Next month is his vet appt and we're going to do the blood test and see if what that shows. I know he's allergic to barley, wheat and alfalfa...we'll see what else turns up.
