oh mike, I go EVERY year!! It's great,,your kids will LOVE IT!
Tons of vendors, all types of animals, a rare breed dog show, an akc parade of dogs, lots of "freebies",,lots of rescues,,police canines (I always buy good stuff from them!))
Lets see, dog diving, cat show,,my advice, GO EARLY! it' gets packed!
Do you ever watch NatGeo channel? Expedition wild? I read that Casey Anderson with his grizzly bear Brutus will be there on Sat I think...Can't wait to see him , he's HUGE!
And I always hit the Nov cluster show,,this year take note, it's begins the day after thanksgiving, vs the week before
Another fun event that I always hit, at the Big E, is Nov 11-14, the Equine Affaire.
If your into "horses" of any type, it's HUGE,,also sheep herding demos, lots of hands on horses/ponies etc.. Fun for the kids
We were there mostly to socialize Fanta. She did very well. Except for when we were trying on a walking harness. Dude was nice but she still got stressed out. My fault for even making her do it.
I almost signed her up for dock diving practice but the line was bit long. she would have done great.
We were looking for leather leashes but no luck.
I was actually disappointed with how small it was. One at Big E dwarfs that one.
oh definately the big e is much more dog geared,,and actually this year, there were some vendors missing that carried things like good collars and leashes..
I just bought a new one and LOVE IT! It's made of Biothane..if you do a google search you should find someone who sells them, altho the girl I bought mine from is going to be in Springfield..
Did you see the Shiloh Shepherds?? A couple of pretty ones, but felt bad, they were pretty stressed out..
Glad Fanta did well except for the walking harness,,I 'll bet it was crowded again today)
Will touch base with you before the Big E,,maybe we can meet up
I would love to meet up at Big E. we will be going on Saturday or Sunday (have to work Friday).
I saw the Shiloh Shepherds, pretty impressive dogs. The biggest one didnt like Fanta much as he showed her his pearly whites so we kept walking.
I must say that we met quite a few GSDs, a lot more than we did at Big E last year. However none were as pretty as our girl. LOL
I saw quite a few gsd's on Sat, they were am lines getting ready to show people in the ring the gsd dawg,,I shoulda brought Masi since of course she is also much prettier than the ones I saw..
If anyone is interested in seeing a great event, the nationals is in Pittsburgh this year. The venue is the same as last year, located on the Ohio River.

Hello all...
I am looking to get involved with IPO/Shutzhund training with a working-line GSD. Are there any clubs/groups around Rockville (or within an hour) that might be of interest?
