Good evening everyone!

I have a 7 month old German Shepherd (obviously haha) she loves to play and tug and pretty much anything! When she tries to tug though she always tries to reposition her bite or grip no matter how good or bad she has it. she also pulls for a second then lies down and doesn’t try to drag me to no ends.

so my question is what can I do to teach her to bite well, and actually pull! Or is she just to young and still needs to learn. She has grown a lot already in this game and is slowly improving, but I wondered if there is anything specific I can do!

Every time since we got her at 7 weeks
Can you try a back tie? Build some more drive and enthusiasm? You can teach her how to properly bite during the game. What are you looking for-- a calm full bite? Or is this just for play? If you want a full bite or to do bite sports I'd get someone to work the leash while you tug. Putting tension on the leash and then releasing it will cause the dog to re-grip and usually, a fuller bite. I am relatively new to bite sports so you may benefit more from finding experienced helpers or a club near you to help teach proper play.
