Is anyone familiar with this trainer or method? I am a bit skeptical because what it seems to be alluding to is an e-collar. Check out her website http://dogdoright.com/tap-n-tell-dog-training.htm .

This trainer is said to make over 3 figures. I am looking for opinions for those that would be looking for a trainer and what you think of her method...As well as opinions from other trainers.

Quote:The arrest of “dog whisperer” Ami Moore for cruelty to animals raises questions about an unregulated industry.
Quote:During Memorial Day weekend, Heather Davis had been walking her long-haired Chihuahua with her fiance in Skinner Park and saw Moore training a Bichon Frise, a tiny breed the American Kennel Club refers to as a “white powder puff of a dog.” She says she was surprised to see that it was wearing two electronic collars, one on the neck and one around the rearmost part of its waist. Moore, she recalls, was yelling at the Bichon to join a group of frolicking dogs in the middle of the park, repeatedly pressing a remote control and shoving the dog hard with her foot. “The dog was yelping, a lot. It was obviously scared—it just wanted to curl up in a ball,” she says. “It was even making my dog scared.” At one point, she says, the Bichon dashed across the park to cower under a stroller.

“I went up to Ami and I said, ‘Hey, your dog’s over there.’ She ignored that and started introducing herself to all of us as this great trainer and saying how she invented this training method, like she had forgotten all about the dog. I asked what was going on with the Bichon, and she said, really annoyed, ‘That dog has been nothing but a third tit on its owner, and I have to break it off and retrain it to be a dog.’ I just walked away, shocked.”

I have heard rumors about this, and it was why I was wondering why she is quoted in this article on starting a dog training business

"When Ami Moore, a Chicago Dog Trainer, started Doggie Do Right to coach dogs and pet parents to live together harmoniously, she networked endlessly...... Her plan worked. In 2005, she hit six figures...."

I wasn't sure if that was just rumors. I just wonder how it is possible that she makes six figures???

Wow Lauri I just started searching around and she has multiple websites and articles she seems to have done herself. Here is one of them:

This is very disturbing. How does this just "go away" after being repeatedly seen shocking dogs with multiple collars and other stories in articles?

It seems unlikely that there would be that many witnesses if she was innocent.

Yes, she has several websites and articles touting how wonderful she is
such as this one:

There was a court case involving her misusing shock collars on dogs and she was acquitted.

You can read what the case was all about here:

And the court results here:

Amazingly she is still doing business and advertising although I don't understand how she is still getting business.

Chicago, I was wondering the same thing. How is she still getting business? Not only that, but why are people using her as a reference (although she may have wrote that article herself it seems)?

It must be frustrating to be a trainer in her area and she being allowed to continue training.

If this was a pet owner not a "dog trainer" would they have been convicted of dog abuse using two shock collars and obviously shocking the s*** out of other dogs in public?
