when I bring jasmine swimming ,and boy oh boy does she love to jump in the lake I find her butt end sink in the water as she's swimming towards shore ,doesn't get a fluent swim.

I know she's now black lab in which they stay up.

thinking about some kind of float vest ....what do you think?

I agree a float vest is a good safety precaution for a dog no matter how good the swimmer who is swimming in deep water. Dogs can drown just like people.

How long has she been swimming? My puppy was like that in the beginning too, very clumsy and awkward, with his front paws flailing and the back end sinking. But after he got the hang of it, he was fine. Now he even jumps off the dock, he loves it so much.
