Our 6 month old male cannot seem to hold his urine while he first greets my husband. Even after he has gone outside immediately prior, he still trickles. He is not scared, he's happy, loving, and overly submissive to my husband. He has never been yelled at. He simply accepts my husband as the alpha male. How can we stop him?
Thank you!

There was a lab in my puppy class that did this- the trainer said he's probably outgrow it. Hope it happens soon for ya.....
This lab wasn't scared either- just happy as all get out.

It's called submissive urination and can just happen when a pup is too excited. You do have to manage the situation for a bit, so the puppy can learn a new behavior when saying hello. It's the excitement that's causing the problem, so that needs to be addressed.

Some great info that should mean instant help are on:

Emma was doing that for about 4 weeks, but eventually she stopped, and she did by everytime she would start to get too excited about whatever I would give her the command to stop and sit and she finally learned that she can't pee in the house.
