Hey did any of guys get your AKC Family Dog magazine?

I got our July/August issue and they have an article on American Icons (famous dogs) and the biggest picture of all is of STRONGHEART with a little sidebar about him!!!

Yay!! Still making headlines after 80 years!!!!

Doesn't mention his fame for being an animal communication teacher but then who would expect the AKC to talk about THAT?!!!!

Yes- what an amazing dog. I had no idea he died in a movie set accident....How sad. That was a great issue- did you read the heartworm article?

Yea he fell against a hot light and the burn became a tumour and he was gone in a week. I've seen Return of Boston Blackie and the stunts they have him do in that movie make you wonder how he survived through 4 previous movies.

Haven't read the rest of the mag yet.

I read a book a few years ago, LETTERS TO STRONGHEART - it was fascinating. The relationship between his trainer and the dog was inspiring. It's sad that only one of his movies is believed to be in existence.

No you can't find it online I don't think. It's not really an article. It's just a sidebar, but hey click on my link and read my article about Strongheart!

I have been a big fan of his for about 10 years now ever since reading "Kinship With All Life" by J. Allen Boone.

Check it out! It's more in depth than the AKC one anyway.

I also have Letters to Strongheart and The Language of Silence and enjoy getting more of them every time I read them, also the aforementioned book.

Cheers!
