Hi There!

I am wondering how you guys are keeping your dogs stimulated mentally when they are in the crate? I am worried because he seems quite bored by his existing toys. We have a red hard ball for when he is outside his crate, which he LOVES. We play hide and seek, and spend some time doing tricks and reinforcing good behaviour. Any toys you recommend etc?

Hi!

I do not actually give our dogs anything in the crate, as they just really sleep when in there. I think I have heard others suggest kongs stuffed with treats as something you might want to give if you are leaving home and/or have a dog that may be restless in the crate. the kong: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750604

I just try to exercise them alot when not in it, so they settle quickly once in the crate.

favorite toys outside the crate:

nylabones...ours sometimes like some of these..but I think some dogs love them!

they also just like plain old soccer balls...well any ball, and for the summer a pool!

good luck and hope you find what works for you and your dog

Apollo has a variety of toys in his crate. He has squeeky toys, a bone to chew on, and a stuffed toy. Havent gotten him a Kong yet. Rocky has a cuz and he just really doesnt care for it, but alot of dogs on here do.
