Hi all. This might open a can of worms, but I'm not sure if we should sterilize our male. My family has had male dogs before when I was a kid and they were never sterilized and never had any issues with them. But I'd just like some opinions/info on what difference it makes to them being sterilized. We are in Australia. We are responsible dog owners and are not looking to breed him etc but do want to do what is best for him. If we were to breed him it would be done properly through his breeder etc

totally up to you. I know some males can end up with prostrate issues later in life or testicular cancer. Just something to watch.

If your a responsible dog owner, and don't have issues with him being un neutered, do what you feel is right for the dog and yourselves

It really depends on you, there are pros and cons on both.

Talk it over with your vet and breeder, they should be your best source of information based on your personal life.
