My puppy had his first birthday a few days ago. He needs some work done on basic commands. My younger brother lets him out while I'm at work, but he also reverses all the training I do when I'm home. And I suspect he hits the puppy when he does something wrong ? I'd like to train the puppy not to trust him so much. Any ideas?

If your brother really hits the puppy, I doubt your dog will need "training" to learn to not trust him. Do not allow this to keep happening. Keep your brother far away from your dog. That is unacceptable, and you should not allow this to happen, period. Your dog is old enough at this point to be able to hold it until you get home.

If your brother lives in the same house, it’s a problem. How can you tell him not to touch your dog? A dog can develop serious behavior problems and lack of confidence from being hit. Not to mention it’s terrible, abusive behavior by your brother. It needs to stop.
