Hey guys,

New member here, great group! I'm getting a GSD pup in the next 4 weeks. currently choosing between a very nice looking working line and a show line (yet to see). I know socialisation is very important and am keen to get it right from the start.

Any tips for achieving this in the corona environment. I was intending on starting off slow quiet parks to dog beach and then to shopping centres etc. but most of those areas will be quiet or not available during this period. where i live in perth?

Anyway guys just thought id see if you guys have any good ideas for socialisation during this period. also would it be a big deal if socialisation didn't happen as much for the first 3 or so months if this goes on for a while?

Thanks in advance guys!

Plenty to do without direct people/dog interactions.... this puppy will have only been on this earth for two months and most likely restricted to the breeders home/yard.

Every sight, sound, surface, texture, animal, etc is a new experience (exposure) and plays a part in preparing them for the world they’re going to soon be a part of.

Since you’ll have the time... this is a good thread to work your way through if you haven’t already come across it: rethinking "popular" early socialization
