and obviously I have a thing for German Shepherds.

We will probably end up divorced over this ad for a car he thought he might be interested in:

haha. I love muscle cars, but that's not a fair trade. I wouldn't trade my GSD for anything.

DHau has a great idea. Seriously, if the home is a good home, get a GSD pup from rescue and trade him for the car. Everbody wins!
Or just meet the people, and convince them to get a GSD pup from rescue. Sounds like they want one.

No respect from this end, and I am a GSD lover.
I love my husband dearly and would not divorce him over something like this...we have been through tough times and came out beautifully...

Try having a sense of humor

Helly,
my DH loves classic cars as well. he is currently working on restoring a barracuda, and a demon. i told him about what you posted here and he said he would have offered ME in exchange rather than bearla, lol. he was joking though, (i think) at least he better have been because we have been together 32 yrs. if he is looking for a mustang to restore, tell him to check magazines such as supershopper, or trade magazines, or at local or other scrap yards. what you can also do is ask him to send flyers around to farms within driving distance of your home. my DH sent flyers to all the farming supply equipment and supply shops in our area and the demon was actually found on a farm. it had been owned by a senior citizen who had it stored in his barn but never had time to take care of it or to drive it very much. it only had 25,000 miles on it. the old gentleman would only start it up, put gas in it and drive it too the end of his road and back to keep it from siezing.

so you dh may not have to get rid of your dear friend after all
