On our morning walk there were some game birds near the mailboxes at our driveway. I didn't see them..... Jolene the GSD / Sheltie mix did....so she sniffed them. Yes, she got that close, and got to sniff them and that's when they flew up and startled me. She jumped back, and had the expression... DAD!! WHY did they do that ???
