Should I tape/glue or wait?

Hi. My dog Beau is 6 months as of the 26th of this month. I'm starting to worry his ears may not come up on their own. The have been up, down, sidways and just about every other position since about 3 1/2 months. In the past week they have made progress though. Should I intervene now or wait a week or so since they seem to be doing better. Also, he was a late teether if that matters any.

I've read everything I can get my hands on about GSD ears and taping etc. I've never had to do it but I've come to the realization that there is no way to prove or disprove that taping actually works. Unless someone were to tape one ear and not the other would there be any way of telling whether or not the ears would have stood up on their own if the taped ear remained up and the untaped didn't. Technically that would be inconclusive too. Sometimes one ear will stand and not the other. One could say they simply taped the one that was going to stand anyway. Maybe somebody has done this as a test but I'm not aware of it. I'm in the camp that believes genetics controls the show. They're either gonna stand up on their own or not at all.
