Dear Friends:
My neighbor found an old german shepherd. He was running in the road, almost getting hit by cars. They took him in but cannot keep him much longer - they have 3 cats and a neurotic dog.
My neighbor thinks he might have arthritis - his back legs have trouble. He is housebroken and very gentle. Sleeps on the couch while you watch TV. I had posted him on CL. The neighbor suspects he might have been dumped because he is old and might need meds. That said, when I saw him running, he was not he was not infirm. However, the guy has had him for a couple of days and I respect his assessment.
Does anyone know of a German Shepherd rescue or else someone who likes to save elderly dogs? I am in Durham and turning him in to the shelter is a death sentence.
Thanks. Rita
