I believe this is a high kill shelter. There is another GSD posted in urgent at this same shelter...and they state this is high kill. I also believe I have always heard that...........

This is a county pound. It is high kill. There is a humane society there too which is no kill but this dog is at the county dog pound.
I notified to ask him to be moved back to Urgent.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HIGH KILL SHELTER....they love to gas dogs...they are not rescue friendly....Xira and I and LHSH have worked diligently on pulling all types of dogs out of this shelter; even as they are being led to the gas chamber!! I don't know where you get your information. LHSH has held peaceful protests with others in trying to shed light to the commissioners on how to run a pound....we have had lots of news media on this subject. We are totally frustrated that we have NO more foster homes anywhere at this moment....please can anyone open their heart and home to the two purebred GSDs that are there now. We are frantically making calls all over to save these dogs from being gassed tomorrow!!

If they are so quick to gas these dogs, why do they say "available on 6-4-08"? This doesn't even give anyone the opportunity to rescue the dog if they are in such a hurry to PTS.

6/4 is the day the dog can be euthanized; they have abided by the OH law.....I am serious, it all depends on the mood of the "acting" dog warden on any given day. He could euthanize after business hours on 6/4 and has been known to do this!!

Sorry, but when I read their website they seemed very concerned on finding homes for the dogs and very rescue friendly. So I tried to confirm it by contacting the shelter. And, that was the impression that I received from one of their shelter staff. So again, sorry for thinking it was not a high-kill.Quote:I don't know where you get your information.
