As a GSD breeder, trainer, and sport competitor, I have been contacted by a Mastiff friend of mine who is asking for help about a GSD in desperate need.
A man her husband met who’s mom just died has a GSD. Her husband said the man is appalled by dogs and has threatened to shoot the deceased spouses GSD if he can’t find her a home. The husband’s friend would take her but she has 13 mastiffs and kennels are so full. She is a 6 year old spayed female who has lived much of her life outdoors but is very sweet. Her name is Rosey and she has had her Rabies shot and travels very well in the car. The dog is located in upstate New York and apparently a GSD rescue was contacted (I don’t know which one) but they are full.
She spoke with the son’s girlfriend and they are going to keep in touch to make sure the dog is kept alive until we can get some help but it has to come ASAP and the dog is obviously not being cared for very well at this point. I have a contact number I can provide.
This is truly a serious matter. This dog obviously has not led a pampered life and now it is being threatened with a horrible death. I ask if any rescue group has the room, if they could please contact me as I will put you in contact with the individual who has brought Rosie’s plight to my attention. My email is [email protected]
