Saundra came into the shelter 6/02/08 as a stray. She is about 5 years old. She is a loving girl. She keeps her head tilted to one side all the time. We do not know why.

Ear infection???????
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

We are not far from Summersville and can offer boarding for both of these girls if there is rescue or sponsorship.
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

Recieved tis e-mail today

Our rescue would be willing to try and help this girl but we would need
someonre local that could pull and hold her for transport. If you could find
someone let me know asap, and we will make a commottment to her. We believe she
may have a bad ear infection

Any news?
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

I emailed Beth at Blue Moon Rescue to see if she needs help pulling her IF they can commit to her. Maybe someone else off this board has already offered their help which would be great! It would be nice to be able to get both girls out of there at the same time!! Their shelter hours aren't very convenient for working people!
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

I have one offer to go get her but not until this thursday, I am not even sure the shelter will hold her that long. She needs to get to a vet ASAP, but the kind lady who offered to pull her says her vet does not give discounts to rescues, and we may have yo pay some bosrding fees also,

This girl is still urgent please bump her up/ I have an offer to pull but not until Thursday, I have tried emailing and have called the shelter several times, they are not answering their phone !!!! I found a near by clinic who will vet her but I cannot do anything if no one will talk to me at the shelter. Any ideas ???? Poor baby.

Any news on this girl?
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

I took Saundra to the vet's today on behalf of the rescue and she is currently being held at the shelter awaiting transport Saturday providing it fills. The vet was still unsure on the exact cause of her head tilt and she will need further medical follow-up once she's at the rescue. The vet said she may be experiencing some "dizziness" from carrying her head tilted, so here's hoping she'll get to her rescue on Saturday and not have to go into boarding.!
Re: Summersville, WV - F WGSD - 5 YO- Possibly Injured

I have a male shepherd with a head tilt and it's due to an undetermined neurological disorder. He is also clumsy at times and doesn't quite know where his feet are under him, has an awkward stance. We could have further testing done including an MRI to try to determine the cause, but he is in no pain and knows no different. He will never be an agility champion, but we love him all the same.

Yes, this girl seemed a bit clumsy at times and that was why the vet said she may be experiencing some dizziness! He did go ahead and start her on meds for a yeast infection in her ears also but didnt' know if that could be the cause of the head tilt or not, (from possible inner ear infection)
