Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

oh my gosh, BLIND and a SENIOR....someone has to be able to help this boy....Do we know anyone that can go take a look at him and find out more about him???? It looks like he's crying in that lower picture....
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

I sent this yesterday to Angel Ridge Rescue in PA.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

Thanks. Please continue to send his info off to as many people as you can. I'm about to leave for the weekend and will have very little time this weekend to come on line.
I really hope this little boy finds his way out of there.

Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

I don't want to be a downer, but I sponsored 2 labs there last week and both were euthanized........ even though their petfinder sites show them adopted. However, they were past their euthanasia/adoption day and this sweetheart is not.

My contact is Paulina with Canine Crusaders, I will email her to confirm this. With the heartbreak I suffered last week with the labs, I am praying that he is safe.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

I'm going to call right now. Fingers and paws crossed!
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

I called but got no where...the phone just rang and rang and then I got voice mail, tried again-same thing. They're likely not even open yet. I can't call later. Can someone please call the shelter and confirm he was adopted??? I just realized something....his available date/euthanisia date isn't until tomarrow, right?? Then how could he get adopted before that????
Can someone please call??
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

It looks like pannus, which can improve dramatically with treatment. Treatment is not very expensive.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

The truth is I am very interested in this boy. I am completely overwhelmed with things to do today but if anyone finds he is there and still in danger please pm GSDBESTK9, Samsmum or Wisc tiger-they all have my phone number and will be able to reach me. Thanks.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

Can someone please call and confirm this boy is safe. I will try one more time!!!
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

I just went to their website and they are closed today. Darn
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

They label their dogs correctly (adopted, rescued, etc.). There is a chocolate lab that is marked euthanized so I'm sure that blind AJay was adopted.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

Thanks A LOT!!! I have no way of getting ahold of them this weekend but will call Monday morning. I still don't quite understand if his adoption date isn't until Sunday how it is that he was adopted sooner. But thats not the big issue, I just want to make sure he's safe. I've seriously considered pulling him myself (well asking a friend to do it) and then having him flown to me. He is exactly the male, senior special needs type of dog I could see adding to my family. I just completely fell in love with him. What can I say, he's beautiful!!!!!

I do not want to argue, but they do not always label correctly.....see link. The top says she was adopted - there is now a note at the bottom that she was euthanized. This was added after I inquired about her status, when I saw she was adopted.

But, the reason we started this link for for the poor shepherd......Received an email from Paulin and he is indeed safe!

You are welcome - I just don't want to see them fall thru the cracks.

Cindy from Angels Among Us Sanctuary actually rescued 4 seniors who are now in a loving environment!
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

Do you know if she got this boy? I'll have to take a look around and see if I can find any info on them, but if you know of anything please let me know.
Re: Mahoning Cty, Ohio Male senior maybe Blind "Ajay"

Rosa,

Subject: Re: UPDATE----RSQD !!!!Youngstown, OH: OMG..LOOK AT THIS POOR DOG.... *Heartstick Fri AM: Senior Golden Put in the back "Too old to adopt!" - NO INTEREST! - DIES FRIDAY A.M. HEARTSTICK!!

I met Cindy today at the Mahoning County pound. She made the long trip from MD, and she was just a joy to meet....a wonderful person with a huge heart!

She ended up taking the following Senior dogs:

#515 Rottie Mix (aka: Momma...the dog that ended up NOT being pregnant)
#523 "Gentleman" The Golden/Shep X
#533 "Ninja" The black lab X (owner turn-in)
#536 "Ajay" The partially Blind shep X

Kristen Weekly of "Last chance rescue" in NH is taking
#532 "Sam" Shep X (owner turn-in)

SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED THESE SWEET SOULS!

A MIRACLE HAPPENED TODAY....A NORMALLY HIGH KILL FRIDAY TURNED OUT TO BE AN ONLY 1 DOG EUTHANIZED DUE TO CANCER (I know, they should have had the dog pts humanely)

FOR ONCE, THE TEARS THAT RUN DOWN MY FACE THIS FRIDAY ARE NOT TEARS OF SADNESS, BUT TEARS OF JOY....AND WHEN SHANNON SHOWED UP AT THE POUND TODAY, HER SMILE COULD HAVE LIT UP THE WORLD AFTER I TOLD HER THE GREAT NEWS. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

PAULINA

Hi, Paulina! I got back to Annville, PA about 10:30 last evening. They were great travelers the entire way home! All 4 seniors are currently napping comfortably. I think they finally feel safe again.

Thanks so much for all your help yesterday! …..and for sponsoring them! I really appreciate it!
